Six persons have been confirmed dead and nine others injured in an accident around Car Park C, Mowe, Ogun State end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The accident, which involved a Dangote truck and a Toyota bus, occurred around 11.53am on Tuesday.
The Ogun state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ahmed Umar, confirmed the incident.
According to punchng.com Umar explained that the crash was caused by the driver of the truck marked FZE 376 DI.
He explained that the driver drove recklessly, lost control and hit the bus, with the number plate, ZUR 843 XA, from behind.
Umar said 20 people were involved in the accident, which comprised 16 male adults, three female adults and one male child.
The sector commander noted that five male adults and one female adult died, while seven males, one female and one male child sustained injuries.
He said the truck driver tried to escape, but was apprehended and taken to the Redeemed Police Station, Mowe.
The FRSC boss said the injured victims were taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital and Idera Hospital, Sagamu, while the corpses of the deceased were taken away by their family members for burial.
